Pianist Richard Askoff will discuss the use of “theme and variation” techniques in baroque, classical and romantic era music. As part of the program Mr. Askoff will be performing the Aria and second half of Bach’s “Goldberg” variations.

Biography
Richard A. Askoff (Rick) obtained his undergraduate degree in Applied Music (piano) from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1974. He subsequently studied piano performance, music history, music theory and aesthetics at SUNY New Paltz and New York University. Mr. Askoff also obtained his law degree from Syracuse University and recently retired after a 35-year career specializing in the practice of telecommunications law.
