My creative work and training is mostly in music. I am a composer and theorist and play piano and guitar. I earned a Ph.D. from Rutgers, where I studied composition with Charles Wuorinen and Robert Moevs. But I also experiment with street photography and I earn my living as a writer and editor, often writing about the arts. I was a featured classical music writer for the Asbury Park Press for 15 years; won awards at TheStreet for a column on the intersection of music, business and social concern; and am currently managing editor of the boutique business publication Brunswick Review, where I frequently get to interview artists and write about their work, as well as get my hands dirty with design elements.
